I've got a two person startup, myself and a technical cofounder. I'm debating bringing in an intern for 3 or so months to help carry the load on marketing, which could theoretically lead to a fulltime position. It would be great to get some insight into the experiences others have had with interns. Has it been worth it? Thank you

I've generally avoided marketing interns unless:

  1. You know exactly what you want them to do.
  2. That task is very routine and rote. You can write down what they are supposed to do, leave them alone for 3 months and know it will get complete. Basically something you might consider using Mechanical Turk for.
  3. The task it not customer facing

Other than that, I think you run a risk that they won't get the job done properly or they'll do something that might embarrass your startup.
