I've always just used a regular fax machine and phone line to send and receive faxes. I'm thinking about switching to some internet or emailed based efax service.

Do you lose and functionality using electronic faxing? Can you still send faxes or can you just receive them as emails? Is efaxing cheaper, better, or does it offer more funcationality?

We switched to RingCentral from a traditional fax machine and it's worked out very nicely.

Electronic faxes show up in your email inbox so you can view them anywhere (ie your phone). It's pretty great not wondering if a fax came in to the office while you were out.

You need to have a scanner as well if you use an efax service so that you can scan documents to fax them out.
